Google Nexus One: “Its All Around An Impressive Piece Of Hardware”.

8 January 2010 21 views 2 Comments

For those of you that missed out on this earlier coverage, Google Nexus One is the name of the phone which is designed by the people from Google, and the hardware will be made in partnership with HTC. The item looks a hell alot like HTC Passion/Dream that is also slated or 2010 launch.

This touchscreen from the Google Nexus One is electrifying and also gives you tactual feedback. Because I’ve stated my need meant for the Snapdragon-powered Android device for the past few months now, the Google Nexus One is positively on my radar. Although its not yet on the market, that indicates a new Android purchase is for something such as the HTC Hero or Motorola Droid.

Additionally, while the Nexus One is usually being bought unlocked, it can be essentially a T-Mobile phone, at least originally. Consumers can purchase the Nexus One at a discounted price tag with a contract on T- Mobile’s network. RIM sent 10.1M units last quarter and added 4.4M subs overall throughout a broad portfolio of devices even as the iPhone 3GS sold 7.64M (sold not shipped). The BlackBerry sells not as a result of its cumbersome UI from 1999, but simply because it offers good secure corporate messaging through BIS plus BES. Where Google would really innovate is how this phone is sold. In case the Nexus One is possible to be bought unlocked, this basically indicates consumers don’t have to be tied into long-term contracts with telecom carriers.

In other words, Google can continue in order to offer the basics as well as leave this up to manufacturers for example Sony Ericson to help include top- notch camera functions plus create their own camera application which offers the entire spectra of sophisticated imaging alternatives. This basically indicates that Google is not looking to compete with OHA affiliates within areas where they are supreme, yet rather wants to improve the Android experience out-of-box slightly.

I speculate that the following is due to upcoming versions associated with google voice would, once again, help us to be truly VOIP, and the need for minutes is going to be minimal. I imagine in the long run those of us which bought contract free (unsubsidized) shall be pleasantly surprised at the way all this shakes out. Much of the mobile phone will be voice- enabled, meaning users will speak to the phone as well as have their text translated into text, in the form of a command or a message, for example an e-mail. Google’s 3D mapping application, Google Earth, is also being adapted for use on Nexus One, complete along with its well-liked “birds eye view” viewing angle. The Nexus One has a tweaked user interface with enhanced navigation, and added interesting display features.

The handset shall be accessible by way of mobile operators within the United States but Google has primarily aimed the unit at the World mobile user so yes, Hopefully the item will be unlocked and available over the counter although for a steep price of $ 529. Eat your heart out Apple, Nexus One will rock the first half of 2010.
