IPad By Apple: With Features Missing Is It Worth The Price?

1 February 2010 9 views No Comment

IPad by Apple is merely .5 inches thick and weighs just 1.5 pounds thinner and lighter than any laptop or netbook. Apple IPad includes 12 new innovative apps designed especially for the IPad, but will run the majority of the over 140,000 apps in the App Store. IPad by apple is powered by A4, Apple’s next-generation system on a chip. Designed by Apple, the revolutionary A4 chip provides exceptional processor and graphics performance in addition to long battery life of up to 10 hours. Apple IPad can also be been built to work in any environment. Furthermore, as the Apple IPad uses a display technology called IPS (in-plane switching), it has a broad, 178 degree viewing angle.

Touch is nice and all, but a lot of existing tablet users want tablet functionality (and that means pen for writing, drawing, etc) having a Mac OS. I’m hoping its pen-enabled, but no multi-tasking stinks too IMHO. Touch a photo, and it zooms to fill the screen. Glide your fingers across the screen to maneuver from page to page. Touch notebooks failed because they were awkward to make use of. Touch capabilities are the holy grail consistently in computing. A portion of the problem continues to be that studies have been targeting a much bigger solution with touch-enabled computing.

Video playback is offered in “full HD,” however it doesn’t fill the full screen during this mode. You can still tap across the screen, and the video will fill the complete display, but you leave full HD mode. Video calls are the killer part about Skype. After all, we’ve opened our Christmas presents together with the last number of years with Skype. Videos on the Apple IPad will obviously be a challenge in terms of power. With built-in usage of the iTunes store, along with YouTube and YouTube HD streaming being available, it will be easy to throw your smart phone or laptop away in favor of the Apple IPad.

Imagine if you could come downstairs every day, grab the IPad, and put it to use like a newspaper. It’s sufficient so there’s still the serendipity of seeing articles you might otherwise miss, and its digital enough which I can get my news for free (or nearly free, depending on what the Sunday Times do about online content). Imagine going to the doctor and leaving with all my info and CAT scans and prescriptions and directions and follow up info within the device, which will affect the world using this device.

Author Christopher West, I hope this article provided you with the knowledge and understanding you were looking for.
