Two Phones One Winner The Motorola RAZR2 V9M.

The Motorola RAZR2 V9ms integrated digital music player supports a wide variety of audio formats to meet the needs of digital music lovers everywhere. A microSD card slot allows for up to 2GB of additional optional storage space providing enough storage for your songs. Although I haven’t had the opportunity to download music, there is also that option.

Sprint was the first to get the model out the door with their version of the phone. The RAZR2 phone is about as unique as the name however and while it expands on the original by upgrading the camera losing some bulk and most notably adding a huge external screen, overall the user is left feeling that they just dropped a quarter grand on a shiny model upgrade. Sprint does include a 256MB microSD card, which is a nice size but again this included accessory may be the best part of the music experience. Sprint also had the freedom to choose the layout of the navigation controls.

Sprint also offers their own Sprint TV service, which streams TV shows from several major networks. These look good on both the interior and exterior screens. The Sprint version we liked a little better just because it had the key for activating the streaming video. Didn’t find this key right here for voice mail, very useful because you can also activate voice dialing here on the side.

Call quality is descent using the headset. However you can’t use the feature to do much more since you can’t send songs via Bluetooth. Call quality and reception performance were both strong when tested in the NYC area and background noise was limited. The speaker is clear and gets loud enough for use in almost any circumstance. Call management was good as well, providing easy access to dialed and received phone numbers. The contact management software wasn’t as thoughtful while it has the basic features, it doesn’t allow for much customization Sprint’s version of the phone is better in this respect.

Verizon Wireless’s RAZR2 is the same gorgeous chunk of metal and glass that you see by the other wireless carriers with the same voice quality too. But Verizons menu system manages to take a lot of the wow factor out of the phone. Verizons version is called the V9m and despite some significant hardware upgrades, I found very little new under the hood. The design is still good and audio quality was solid.

Voice prompts provide assistance to help you connect the device with your phone and upload your address book. The Supertooth 3 announces the name or ID of the caller when the phone rings just say ok to accept the call. Voice and text messaging features help you stay connected while productivity tools keep you organized and on time. Features include slim, lightweight design, internal antenna, color LCD, text messaging and a variety of preloaded ringtones and graphics to choose from.
